Nature Programs
Join one of our naturalists and explore Amelia Island’s natural wonders. Amelia Island Plantation’s very own Nature Center was established in 1997 and now has grown to incorporate several staff naturalists with backgrounds in biology, ecotourism, and environmental studies.
Stop by the fully stocked retail shop, complete with top-of-the-line binoculars, field guides, and bird feeders to fulfill all your exploring needs. The facility includes a large classroom fully equipped for children’s programs and interpretive presentations. Explore Amelia’s natural wonders with the Nature Center. Drop by the Nature Center to see our local critters, chat with our naturalists, or sign up for a tour. The Nature Center is open daily 9am to 5 pm.
There are Amelia Island Nature Programs for people of all ages and levels of experience offered daily, allowing you to explore the natural beauty of the island. Join in on a stroll through a maritime forest and discover the species that call the forest their home. Catch a glimpse of a painted bunting or great blue heron on a birding excursion. Quench your adventurous side while you paddle with us on a kayak tour. Cruise with us on a scenic bike tour while taking in breathtaking views of the salt marsh and woodlands. Other activities include shell and shark tooth hunts, nature crafts, crabbing, edible plant and wildflower tours and children’s programs.
